I can't tell you how much we
enjoyed your show at the Little Fox. Your playing and arrangements
are brilliant, the best of the old and the new (not to mention the
amazing step-dancing!). We've been working our way through your CD
since then -- there are actually enough Strathspeys on it, for
those of us who have a serious Strathspey addiction. ... the name
of that mystery jig isn't The Tempest, after all, although The
Tempest is in the same set of jigs that Howie taught at VOM a
couple of years ago. The tune you play is Francis Au Coin. FYI,
the jig that Ryan plays, I Lost My Love, was taught by Buddy a
number of years ago at VOM. You should definitely appear at the
Sebastopol festival. There's also a Celtic music festival in Grass
Valley the first weekend in October, right before Celtic Colors.
Alasdair will be there this year, and so will Danu, Eileen Ivers
and Richard Thompson. The link is http://www.kvmr.org/celtic/index.html
Please come back to California, and let us know in advance so we
can get the word out. Your band is world-class and you deserve a
big following. -- MM
